Sex is supposed to be sexy, tantalizing, and completely erotic, but Anna never seems to find the right guy. This one seems to be a germ-a-phobe, and the previous boyfriend wasn't much better. Anna just wants to be wanted. Is that too much to ask?
As Anna tries to wiggle out of one relationship, a new one surfaces, but it's forbidden. Cole Stevens is twice her age, arrogant, rich, sexy as hell, and her boss. When Anna's internship plans derail, she ends up interning at Cole's elite New York City studio. Close proximity leads Anna to discover that the billionaire bachelor is emotionally scarred. Everyone has secrets, but Cole's run deeper, cutting him to his core. Cole is trouble in a sexy shell. He's nothing Anna needs and everything she wants.
(Side note: Some versions of this say that the author is Ella Steele. That is H.M. Ward’s pseudonym, so I just used H.M. Ward as the author.)
After finishing all of the then released Ferro Family books, I had a bit of a book hangover. I had no idea what to read next! Since I wasn’t ready to completely move on, I decided to look into some of Holly’s non-Ferro books, and I found Seecrets available on Kindle Unlimited.
Right away, I was hooked! I had a feeling that Anna was going to end up working for Cole, but I had to find out how it came to be and how it would pan out.
I loved Cole. I’m not sure why, but he was just so charming and fun to read. His interactions with Anna were always interesting. And the dynamic between Anna, her roommate/best friend, and her boyfriend/roommate’s twin brother was great! As the series progressed, all of the interactions got more interesting. Anna grew, learned, and changed in ways that even she didn’t expect. The chemistry between her and Cole was palpable and continued to grow. There was so much sexual tension between them that even tame scenes seemed steamy!
There were surprising twists and turns and revelations that I never could have seen coming. There was also a lot of different emotions, humor, verbal smackdowns, awkward sexual encounters, steaminess, mystery, fear, confusion, relief. My emotions really ran the gamut, and it was so much fun to read.
All of the revelations and resolutions were very well-written. There was a little bit of predictability, but it didn’t bother me too much. My biggest complaint was that when it was over, I wanted a little bit more! That happens a lot when I really like what I’m reading, though, so it isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Overall, I really enjoyed this serial. It kept me hooked, and I could not read fast enough! If you like New Adult or Romance and haven’t read anything by H.M. Ward yet, what are you waiting for?
