Lydia Kincaid left Boston to get away from the firefighting community—but family is number one, and her father needs her help running the pub he bought when he retired. Soon, Lydia finds it hard to resist the familiar comfort and routine, and even harder to resist her brother's handsome friend Aidan.

Aidan Hunt is a firefighter because of the Kincaid family. He's had the hots for Lydia for years, but if ever a woman was off-limits to him, it's her. She's his mentor's daughter. His best friend's sister. The ex-wife of a fellow firefighter. But his plan to play it cool fails, and soon he and Lydia have crossed a line they can't uncross.

As flirtation turns into something more serious, Lydia knows she should be planning her escape. Being a firefighter's wife was the hardest thing she's ever done, and she doesn't know if she has the strength to do it again. Aidan can't imagine walking away from Boston Fire—the job and the brotherhood are his life. But if he wants Lydia in it, he'll have to decide who's first in his heart

Back in 2011 I found Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey on Netgalley, and I immediately fell in love with her Kowalski series. Her humor was fresh, and she had me hooked from page one. As the Kowalski series went on, I devoured book after book. But once she finished the actual family and had moved on to townsfolk? I felt like the series lost something. None the less, I was THRILLED to see that she had a new series about Firemen.

As soon as I was approved on Netgalley (2 months before the release) I jumped into Heat Exchange, and HOLY COW! I couldn’t put this one down! (In fact, it was the perfect Mother’s Day this year. I came home from work, put on my pajamas and curled up with Aiden and Lydia. And I loved every minute of it!

There were moments of this book that had me laughing out loud and falling in love with Shannon Stacey all over again! The chemistry between these two is amazing, and to make it better? It’s my favorite type of romance! Falling in love with the brothers best friend! (There’s just something about this story line that I can’t get over and has me swooning every time!)

But this one’s better than most. Aiden is a firefighter, best friends with Lydia’s brother, and in a fire-crew with her estranged brother-in-law. Add in that she’s NEVER going to fall for another Fireman after being burned by her ex? And this story is totally combustible!!

If you’re a fan of contemporary romance? I can’t recommend Shannon Stacey’s Heat Exchange enough!  (But grab it quick – she’s got LOTS of binge-worthy books coming out in 2015!)
